The evolution of the Pop Up Gazebo.
It has been claimed that the original pop up gazebo was designed and built in the USA by EZ Up shelters and since then many companies have come along and copied the original pop up gazebo or instant canopy (as it is named in the USA) design.
The original design of instant marquee used a steel framework with a scissor action which featured bracing which met in the centre and created a peak pole. This marquee design used 300 denier or 500 denier polyester or nylon tops and sidewalls and whilst sufficient for the American market was never really strong enough to withstand the weather conditions in the UK.

Many pop up gazebo manufacturers have taken this basic design and in an attempt to make it stronger have added features like Aluminium marquee framework with 40 or 50mm hexagonal legs which will increase the strength of the original 32mm square steel gazebo legs but do not offer any internal strengthening.
LP Tent Marquees have taken the instant marquee, pop up gazebo design and moved it into the next level. By adding complex marquee legs with internal channels the XP and ZP models of marquee offer enormous internal strength and the opportunity to use the standard awning, marquee keder fitting for the side walls.
